Welcome to India! On arrival at Delhi International airport you will be met by our tour escort, transferred to the hotel and assisted with check-in. This morning, take a five-hour train journey to Sawai Madhopur, followed by a road transfer to Ranthambhore National Park, bringing you to one of India’s most renowned wildlife reserves.

In the afternoon, set out on a scenic trek to Ranthambhore Fort, a 1,000-year-old Rajput stronghold perched 215 metres above the plains on a rocky cliff. As you explore its ancient ruins, wander through crumbling gateways, hidden chambers, and intricately carved temples, each telling stories of the fort’s storied past and battles fought here. From the ramparts, take in breathtaking panoramic views of the national park and its three shimmering lakes, where wildlife such as crocodiles, deer, and birds of prey can often be spotted.

Once the hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur, Ranthambhore was declared a national park in 1980 and later became one of India’s Project Tiger reserves. Wander through its lively markets, where vendors display fresh vegetables, fruits, and fragrant flowers, creating a vibrant, colourful scene. Take time to browse the bazaars, where you’ll find handwoven silk and cotton textiles, delicate stone crafts, traditional Bundi miniature paintings, and the renowned Kota silk saris, all reflecting the artistry of Rajasthan’s skilled craftsmen.

Spend the day exploring Bundi’s rich heritage, beginning with a visit to the Garh Palace, renowned for its stunning murals and frescoes. The palace interiors are adorned with intricate paintings, depicting scenes from the life of Lord Krishna, grand battles, and royal court gatherings, showcasing the artistic brilliance of the Bundi School of Painting.

Next, take a scenic drive around Sukh Sagar Lake to view Kesar Bagh, the royal cenotaphs of the Bundi rulers. This collection of sixty-six intricately carved memorials features marble ceilings, decorative friezes, and sculpted elephants, reflecting the grandeur and craftsmanship of the region.

Arrive at Castle Bijaipur, a heritage hotel nestled in the serene Vindhyachal Mountain Ranges. Arriving at Phulad, continue by road for two hours to Kumbhalgarh Fort, a magnificent 15th-century stronghold set atop the rugged Aravalli Hills. With its commanding views, massive fortifications, rounded bastions, and towering watchtowers, Kumbhalgarh was once considered the most impregnable fort in Rajasthan.

In the afternoon, trek up to the fort for a short guided tour, exploring its majestic ramparts, intricately designed gateways, and historic temples, while taking in panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Rise early this morning for a jeep safari or jungle walk through Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, a rugged landscape home to leopards, wolves, flying squirrels, and a diverse array of birdlife. As the sun begins to set, embark on a boat cruise on Lake Pichola, gliding past Udaipur’s iconic palaces and havelis, with the golden hues of twilight reflecting on the water. Later in the evening, attend a Sound and Light Show at the City Palace complex, where the history of Udaipur and its rulers unfolds through music, narration, and dramatic lighting. After breakfast, set off on a three-hour drive to Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat and a city known for its rich history, thriving commerce, and vibrant culture. While Ahmedabad has grown into a bustling industrial hub, its old quarter remains a treasure trove of heritage, with intricately carved façades, bustling bazaars, historic temples, grand mosques, and ancient stepwells, each telling stories of the city’s past.

On arrival, check in to your hotel and take some time to unwind after the journey. In the afternoon, you may choose to relax at your hotel or explore at your own pace. In the evening, visit Ahmedabad’s lively night markets, where you can sample local street food, browse handicrafts, and experience the city’s energy after dark.

Begin at the Siddi Saiyyed Mosque, celebrated for its intricate stone latticework, including the famed ‘Tree of Life’ jaali, an exquisite example of craftsmanship. Continue to the Jama Masjid, one of India’s most stunning mosques, built in 1424, with its graceful arches, towering minarets, and expansive courtyard, offering a glimpse into Ahmedabad’s Mughal heritage.
