Explore the highlights of Assam aboard this 11-day cruise that takes you to explore the old capital of the Ahom kings at Sibsagar, where you will also enjoy lunch at an Assamese tea estate. Your explorations will take you to the Hindu monasteries of Majuli Island before arriving at Kazaringa National Park. Kazaringa has UNESCO World Heritage site status and you will spend 2 days exploring all this stunning national park has to offer. Take elephant and jeep safaris in the park’s western and rarely visited eastern range with its population of water buffalo, deer, rhinoceros and elephant.

You can also search the local bazaars at Guwahati for keepsakes and ride a cycle rickshaw to Cole Park with its collection of medieval stone carvings. The river journey also provides the magnificent opportunity to enjoy two full days of cruising this impressive river, taking in the ever changing landscape from the comfort of the sundeck.
Day 1 Dibrugarh
You will be met upon arrival at Dibrugarh and transferred to the vessel. Settle in and unpack in your cabin, which will be your home away from home for the next 10 nights.
Day 2 Sabsagar
Today you will take an excursion by road to Sibsagar – the one-time capital designed by the Ahom kings of Assam – featuring temples with stupa-like profiles and palaces of distinction. Lunch will be taken at a typical Assamese tea estate. Returning to the ship, cruise for approximately three hours to Majuli Island, said to be the world’s largest river island.
Day 3 Majuli Island
Explore Majuli Island today, home to unique Hindu monasteries famous for their dance drama performances. Visit Auniati monastery and in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to attend a dance performance at the Kamalabari monastery.
Day 4 Kaziranga
A day spent mostly cruising, though there will be a stop to visit a tribal village by the river. Relax on board as the vessel makes its way downstream and absorb the ever changing view. By afternoon, Kaziranga National Park will come into view.
Day 5 Kaziranga
This morning arrive at the little temple town of Vishnath, with its Ahom-period temple. Take a walk ashore before continuing the voyage down to moor at Silghat. Later, disembark for your first safari through Kaziranga National Park with a jeep ride through its Western Range.
Day 6 Kaziranga
Start the day with an early morning elephant safari at Kaziranga. The park is a UNSECO World Heritage site and with a population of over 1,000 rhinoceros is the best place in the world to see these beasts. It is also home to elephants, wild water buffalos and swamp deer. In the afternoon, drive to Kaziranga’s little-visited Eastern Range for a further jeep safari.
Day 7 Tezpur
Enjoy a morning of cruising, sailing downstream to dock at Tezpur. After lunch on board, disembark to visit to the remains of the 6th century Da Parbatia temple, enjoy a ride on a cycle rickshaw through local bazaars to reach Cole Park with its collection of medieval stone carvings.
Day 8 Ganesh Pahar
Relax and enjoy a full day of river cruising today. Take in the changing landscape and scenery from the sundeck and immerse yourself in your surroundings.
Day 9 Guwahati
Enjoy a morning of cruising, before reaching Guwahati and mooring opposite the city. Climb the stairs to the Aswaklanta temple, before driving out to the beautiful temple ruins of Madan Kamdev to see their erotic carvings.
Day 10 Sualkuchi
Head ashore at Sualkuchi to visit a weaving workshop to learn about the complete process of silk manufacturing. Later, explore the sights of Guwahati. Visit the Kamakhya temple, the poignant Commonwealth War Graves, the museum and the local bazaars.
Day 11 Guwahati
Your cruise along the Brahmaputra ends today. Disembark during the morning and transfer to the airport for final departure.
