The wildlife of India is on spectacular display on this incredible 8-day sojourn in some of the country’s most famous national parks.
Starting off with elephant safaris at Manus National Park to potentially see some of the 500 wild elephants that roam here or perhaps spot the elusive tiger. Take a 3-night Brahmaputra River cruise visiting silk weaving workshops at Sualkuchi and the sacred town of Hajo.

Sightseeing in Guwahati includes the poignant Commonwealth War Graves. Jeep and elephant safaris in Kaziranga National Park – another UNSECO World Heritage Site. At Kaziringa enjoy an elephant ride at dawn to get up close to its wildlife, including the famed one horned rhino, before taking a walk through terraced tea gardens and visiting a Mishing tribal village. Enjoy a jeep safari in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary with its dense population of Asian One-Horned Rhinoceros. A wonderful journey for wildlife enthusiasts.
Day 1 Guwahati
You will be met upon arrival at Guwahati airport and driven to Manas National Park, bordering Bhutan. The park has a tiger count estimated at around 30 and wild elephant numbering near 500. Overnight at a lodge near the park.
Day 2 Manus National Park
Begin the day with an early morning elephant safari at Manas to see its several different species of deer and monkey, as well as some of the park’s 380 birds. You will also take a walk through a local village, visit the nearby tea garden and see tribal hand weaving. Later, travel by jeep to watch the sunset over the Manas River, before returning to your lodge accommodation.
Day 3 Vijaynagar
After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Guwahati where your river cruise begins. Board the ABN Charaidew mid-afternoon close to the great Saraighat Bridge, and settle in to your cabin. Cruise downstream to an overnight stop close to the village of Vijaynagar.
Day 4 Hajo
Today you will cruise upstream to the little town of Sualkuchi and visit its silk weaving workshops. Continue on by vehicle to Hajo, a place sacred to Hindus, Muslims and Buddhists. Visit a hilltop Muslim shrine with far-reaching views over the surrounding rural landscape, as well as the simple Hindu temple with its frieze of elephants. Afterwards, return to your river vessel and cruise to an overnight mooring.
Day 5 Guwahati
Cruise upstream and head ashore at Pandu docks. Discover Guwahati with a short sightseeing tour of the city including visits to the holy Kamakhya temple and poignant Commonwealth War Graves. Afterwards, cross by country boat to the mid-stream Peacock Island with its population of Golden Langur monkeys, before returning to your river vessel and cruise.
Day 6 Kaziranga
This morning the river vessel makes its way upstream toward the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, where your river cruise will end. Drive to the sanctuary with its dense population of the Asian One-Horned Rhinoceros and take a jeep safari. Afterwards, drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNSECO World Heritage Site, with a population of more than 1,000 rhinoceros, as well as tiger, wild elephant and many other species.
Day 7 Kaziranga
Starting at dawn, get up close to the wildlife in Kaziranga’s Central Range with a morning elephant ride. Later, take a walk through terraced tea gardens and past a Karbi tribal village, before driving to a Mishing tribal village, where you will see their distinctive houses raised on piles. In the afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari in the Western Range of the park and scan the wilderness from an observation tower.
Day 8 Guwahati
An early start for the drive back to Guwahati or Jorhat airports where your tour concludes.
