Tips for the best places to shop in Hauz Khas in Delhi
Recently we spent the day rediscovering Hauz Khas – an arts and shopping precinct in New Delhi that’s home to small boutiques, cafes and galleries. Closed to cars, Hauz Khas is pleasant place to spend an afternoon in Delhi strolling around and shopping for treasures from homewares to fashion, vintage posters and jewellery.
Here are some of the great stores we discovered (and shopped in!) in Hauz Khas. We recommend a visit to this great area if you are looking for things to do in Delhi away from all its great historical sights.
# Nappa Dori – These genuine handcrafted leather bags, wallets and card holders were just a few of the items that caught our eyes at Nappa Dori.
# Lacquer Embassy – Who says shopping is just for the ladies. This menswear boutique was full of goodies from ties to socks, with tailors sewing onsite. These products are beautiful and are sold in some countries overseas.
# AllArts – An Alladin’s cave of treasures – full of vintage maps, old vinyls, Indian film posters and other antiques.
# Away from the shops – at one end of this village lies Hauz Khas fort and ruins, right in the middle of the houses and shops. Worth a look if you need a break from the shopping.
# The Tea Room – With a menu featuring fresh and healthy options, and a cool and quiet interior, the Tea Room is a perfect place to take a break from the hard work of shopping!
