3 Great Things I Bought Recently on a Shopping Trip in Jaipur, India
#1 Bangles
Every time we go to India I buy bangles – more and more bangles. They make such great gifts for all the little kids in our lives who love the colours they come in, plus the sound they make moving up and down their arms – “jangle jangle jangle”! I buy the big packets – they are usually sold in India in about 24 pieces or a half of about 12. At the main market in Jaipur, also known as the Pink City, there are several fabulous and famous bangle sellers we love to visit.
#2 Copper pots, spoons and thali plates
For years I have wanted to start collecting the copper pots and bowls some Indian restaurants use to serve dishes in – I’ve always thought it would bring some extra spice to our Indian dinners back in Australia. The items are sold by weight – but some bargaining can be done! Here are some of the big and small serving bowls we bought.
#3 Rajasthani Leather Slippers
These are traditional shoes of Rajasthan and you can see them in the main bazaar in Jaipur. I love the look and craftsmanship of them, not to mention all the gorgeous colours they come in. The plain leather and tan ones are especially nice.
These are just a few of the things I bought recently during a shopping trip in Jaipur…….there were lots of other treasures stuffed into our suitcase during our tour of Rajasthan which we will show you later.
